REMINDER FOR PURCHASES AT SUFFOLK SCOUT SHOP
If you are a Unit Leader making Unit purchases at the Suffolk Scout Shop using either a Unit Check or a Unit Account, you are NOT supposed to be charged the New York State Sales Tax. These are supposed to be "Tax-Exempt" purchases.
Make sure that the store clerk has entered your transaction as a Tax-Exempt purchase.

Scoutbook Advancement Will Now Sync to ScoutNET
A project has been in the works to provide the ability to sync Scoutbook advancement records with ScoutNET. We’re excited to announce that this project is now complete and ready to roll out to units starting June 27. This means you no longer need to access Internet Advancement for those units currently using Scoutbook!
The rollout will be done weekly to allow us to monitor and control the number of transactions processed during the implementation. We currently have a list of approximately 160 Scoutbook units that have requested to be activated in the first phase. Thereafter, additional Scoutbook units will be activated each week, with the intent of having all Scoutbook units activated by July 25. After this date, all new units that subscribe to Scoutbook will automatically be included in the sync.
Once the National Service Center sets a Scoutbook unit to "active," the unit is eligible to participate. Each unit Key 3 will then receive a notification with documentation on how to set up the unit for the advancement sync. After the initial steps are completed, all youth advancement records will automatically reflect in ScoutNET within 24 hours. Scoutbook units will no longer need to generate a .csv file from Scoutbook and upload it into Internet Advancement.
This is a huge accomplishment in alleviating and simplifying advancement for our unit leaders.

We are confirmed for our RT meetings for this school year at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, located at 372 Terryville Road, Terryville. It is across the street from Terryville Elementary School, just up the road from St Gerard Majella. There is ample parking right behind the building The only rule is NO COFFEE or TEA. The start time is the same:
 7:15 gathering for a 7:30 meeting.

IMPORTANT: POPULATE YOUR "PIN" !

Currently the primary method for new families and interested youth to find out more about Scouting is the BeAScout.org website. Individuals can visit the site, put in their zip code and find out units in their area. When they click on a unit they are given contact information for that unit so they may either call or send an email to find out more.
We realize many of you may NOT be the Top Leader or Committee Chairperson of the unit but we need you to check out your pin at www.BeAScout.org. Put in your zip code and when the units come up click on your unit and see what information is listed. If the information is the council it needs to be changed to the unit information. Now if it's not populated here is the information you need to populate the pin. Please be aware that Cubmasters, Scoutmasters, Crew Advisors, along with the Unit Committee Chair and the Chartered Organization Representatives are the only volunteers who have first-time access to set up the BeAScout.org pin. These leaders will then be able to set up a total of 6 individuals in the unit to access the editing features of BeAScout.org.
